Dogdays Magazine - 2023 Edition
DogDays Magazine 08 – Yearbook 2023
Five years and the press is still rolling! After months spent collecting more skate content from around the world than ever before, we are thrilled to present our latest issue! As usual, you receive a high-quality printed magazine made in Germany.
For our anniversary issue, we asked you, skaters and photographers worldwide, to submit photos for a chance to be featured on our cover. Having the honor of choosing an image from over 240 photos was a highlight for us. We appreciate each and every one of you. Ultimately, Emerald Kelly, photographed by Mathias O’Neill on the roof of a store in Australia, was selected. Inside, we feature 12 other amazing submissions from Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago de Chile, Vancouver, and many more. Each of them exudes a unique quality.
Full interviews with Megan Shaffer talking about how she manages the fear of sliding down big rails, Thais Coupet explaining why she refused to be a professional model and how she found a better way to make a living from roller skating while staying true to herself. Silvia Kambouridis and our photographer Bryan Banducci take us on a journey to their new home in New York with purely magical photos! We chatted with Barbie, Bomba, and Lady Trample about past and future projects.
Column: Alyssa Brooks on "Growing Pains in the Roller Skating Community," Marta Popowska explores the question "Am I too old to skate?", Malin Hiegle explains "The Origins of terms like Skate or Die." And Chuffed Skates founder, Samantha Trayhurn, tells us how she launched a roller skate company with no business experience but with a lot of heart and vision.
Of course, we delved once again to tell you the history of roller skating Down Under, letting Paul "Rollerball" Jessep recall the Australian beginnings, Brian Wainwright talks about his long career, we revisit downhill skating in Stuttgart, Germany, and the legendary Tropica.
And if that's not enough, get ready to admire the beautiful works of Pika and Jessika Savage and many incredible photographers who make all these skaters look great.
The DogDays Magazine 2023 yearbook is a high-quality print product, in full magazine format, printed by a local printer in Germany. Everything is made for skaters by skaters. We hope you will also enjoy supporting this idea.
