THE BURDY STORY

Hi, I'm Joolz! I've been passionate about quad roller skating for 12 years. I started with roller derby in 2014 and then got into skate parks in 2020 "because" of COVID...

I created the shop in September 2022 with the desire to make quad roller skating more accessible: to be able to try on the skates, touch the materials, compare the boots... And above all, to have the appropriate advice for your discipline, whether it is for derby, roller dance, or skate park.

So why "Burdy's Quad Shop"? Burdy comes from Burdigala, the ancient name for Bordeaux :)

In September 2023, I moved into a caravan built and fitted out by Darwin Woodstock in Bordeaux, on the Darwin Ecosystem site. The location was ideal for getting started: I was between the entrance to the skate park and the hangar where the local Roller Derby team trains!

After two and a half years of dedicated service, I'm moving from the caravan in January 2026 to a larger space in downtown Bordeaux. You can now discover the world of Burdy at 85 rue Leyteire !

Since the beginning of this Burdy adventure, I've been committed to developing the sport in France and supporting the community. You can often find me at derby events, skate parks, or dance events all over France. If I can't be there in person, I do my best to send prizes to give away :) I also regularly organize events in and around Bordeaux, so be sure to follow me on Instagram for updates!
